Our elastic public IP addresses are static addresses that can be allocated to cloud servers which need to be exposed to the internet.

A floating IP adress can have 3 states:

  • available : in the common pool
  • allocated : reserved to a tenant
  • attached : attached to a cloud server

The lifecycle of an IP address is independent of that of a cloud server. It is not destroyed when destroying the instance. It can be reused and attached to another instance. So it is a stable public IP for the user.

An IP address can support between 1 MB / s. To 10 Gb / s.
